The History of the Brand
Since its founding in 1883, Alpina has distinguished itself as a pioneer in the Swiss watch industry. Early on, the brand innovated by improving its manufacturing processes and introducing cutting-edge quality control criteria, placing itself at the forefront of watch manufacturers of the time.
Alpina's history is closely linked to its founder, Gottlieb Hauser, who believed in creating durable, precise and functional watches. He wanted to design perfect watches for athletes, engineers, technicians and adventurers. This vision took shape in 1938 with the introduction of the "Alpina 4" concept, which redefined the standards of the sports watch.
The "Alpina 4" marked a turning point for the brand, defining four fundamental principles: water resistance, shock resistance, anti-magnetism and a stainless steel case. These features made the "Alpina 4" a watch of choice for mountaineers, pilots and military personnel, offering them uncompromising reliability in the most extreme environments.
By the 1920s, Alpina had over 2,000 points of sale worldwide, a major feat for the time. This global success cemented the brand's reputation as one of the leading Swiss manufacturers. However, the advent of the "quartz crisis" in the 1970s slowed Alpina's growth, severely impacting the mechanical watch industry.

The Watches
Uncompromising reliability, even in the most extreme conditions"
perfectly sums up the philosophy of Alpina watches. Since the creation of the revolutionary "Alpina 4" concept in 1938, the brand has designed watches specifically for athletes, mountaineers, pilots and military personnel, ensuring that they are suitable for the harshest environments.
Alpina watches meet four fundamental criteria of robustness: water resistance, shock resistance, antimagnetism and stainless steel case. These characteristics allow each model to face extreme conditions, whether it is freezing temperatures in the high mountains, underwater diving, or exposure to magnetic fields. The careful design of the cases, the choice of highly resistant materials, and the reinforced internal mechanisms guarantee infallible precision and durability in all circumstances.
In short, Alpina is a brand synonymous with absolute reliability, designed for those who face extreme challenges, without ever compromising performance or safety.
